Will A Membership Site Make You Money?

There are a growing number of subscription sites out there which grow virally on their own, because they pay out a goodly portion of each monthly payment to their affiliates as commissions. The growth is viral, because the plan is so lucrative for affiliates.

Some marketers charge $27 to $29 per month for their membership sites, and pay out $20 of that every month, to the original referring affiliate for each sale. So, just two referral subscribers ‘more than pay’ for your own subscription every month, and any others beyond two, just continue to pour residual income into your pocket every month.

So, an affiliate has plenty of incentive to spread the word about the plan. If he refers 20 subscribers, at $20 per month, he has a residual $400 gross monthly income.

If the affiliates web site gets any properly targeted traffic, his income can grow automatically every month, just by passively promoting the plan to his site’s visitors.

And a number of marketers are setting up their plans in a way that guarantees that their affiliates will never cancel their subscriptions. They do this by requiring you to subscribe first, in order to become an affiliate.

Some people don’t like them, because they look like a pyramid. But they’re not. They just grow like a pyramid. Like Hotmail. Like Amazon.com, and Art.com, and a host of others which also grew like pyramids, and also pay commissions. That’s just plain old Viral Marketing.

These plans don’t pay like a pyramid. A pyramid pays for recruiting people. These pay affiliate sales commissions on retail sales. It’s Viral Marketing, with residual retail sales commissions being paid to affiliates.

The “Big Boys” have been doing it for years. So yes, I think you will make money with a membership site.
